Opening Roundtable Discussion:The Current State and Challenge of Global Hakka Studies
In line with the efforts to present Taiwan as the celebrated platform for the promotion of global Hakka culture and heritage, the Hakka Affairs Council and Taoyuan City Government will jointly organize the 2023 Hakka Expo, which will take place in the beautiful island from August 2023 until October 2023. The Expo aims to showcase the diversity and localization of the Hakka diaspora in different parts of the world.
In conjunction with the 2023 Hakka Expo, the Consortium of Global Hakka Studies (GHAS) will organize the Biennial International Conference of World Consortium of Global Hakka Studies (WCHS) on the theme, “Local, Global and Diversity of the Hakkas”. International experts and researchers will convene to discuss the changing identities of the Hakkas in the world. The international conference seeks to promote the visibility of global Hakka studies.
